Arrived at Rutland at about 11.00 and found a solid F4 blowing cross off from Whitwell launch area and result it was sunny, fantastic!

Rigged a 7.5m and went for the Thommen XXL as I fancied some decent blasting and didn't want to keep swopping kit if the wind dropped...

An excellent blasting session, maxed out at times, and a few lulls here and there but overall a good day out.

Plenty of practise blasting, gybing and tacking, quite a few planing in, flaring out gybes. More practise needed I think, but getting back into it much better and happier in the straps. Tripped, heel in the water a couple of times going for the back strap resulting in wipeouts.

But wow is that board fast or what, a pure straight liner so not so fun to turn but it tacks in a straight line with ease.

I'll give it a 4 star, even if my technique wasn't brilliant, as the sun shone and the wind never died.
